Whee

Haha ever since sec1 when Leon and I hopped aboard the rp train, I have never ever auditioned. So this was weird. Leon auditioned for Us and Them last year, and I volunteered for crew because of the lame squash competition in which there were 5 schools and we were 4th. And that was Nationals.

Went for auditions, slightly nerve-racking, but the presence of friends and evident-inferiors do boost my confidence. Like, even Sec1s are doing it, shouldnt be that bad. But anyway, on thursday (a 3rd lang day) there was quite a big difference in the number of people than on Friday. If I'm not wrong, theres this Indo-S'porean Sec 1(the only Sec 2(1), ahaha get the lame english - the only sec one one haha), Kaushik, Zaki, Leon, Shu Kiat, and these three weird guys who I never knew in my entire life would go for auditions.

Anyway, when I went to "morally support" Geoffrey and Ben Yap, and oh.. yes Zhongren. Yes, the Zhongren from my class, not some prc scholar. There was also half the tennis team, including Ernest and lots os Sec1s. I mean like almost 15 or so. On thursday there was 1. 1!!

Haha, so for those dying to know what happened, which is unlikely, unless you are Bryan Tsui who gallivants (is that correct usage, i thought it looked cool, sry) around the whole world annocing how he wants to join Raffles Players, and then when it comes for auditions, he offers excuse after excuse. I guess he's just a big, tough looking piece of courage-less Tsui. I mean, at least try and audition since you are dying to join rp, BEN YAP AUDITIONED, FOR GOODNESS SAKE.

k, anyway, when you first go into the english studio, you sit in front of a 5 person panel comprising Ms Quah, 2 other teachers from rp (Who the ** are they, Ive never seen them before), Anish and Nabil. (the rp exco people might rotate, I'm not sure). They will ask you mandatory questions about your commitments etc, cos they dont want people with piano lesson and tuition and cca and winning eleven at home, (I'm truly sorry Paul), whether you can sing (YES, THEY ARE HAVING A MUSICAL! I hope I get a part there too :) )

Finally, before your dramatisation, they will ask you some questions about the script (monologue) and what emotions the character is going through and all that. To seperate the lit students from the triple science ahhh (im so bad, sorry again)

So then you have to dramatize the monologue, and if you "make the cut" so to speak they will ask you to do a dialogue. Byap didnt make it past the firsdt paragraph according to him, oh well. Anyway, the 5 of us plotted the order of auditioning so we could choose partners (except for Leon, Anish forced him to do dialogue with the Sec1 who "pronouces things with an ang-moh accent like, "can you pass the warder" haha" (like, boy ah, its WA-TER)

So, Zaki did with Kaushik and I did with Shu Kiat yay.
We're not gay.
Anyway we turned it into a comedy.
As in, on purpose, la.

The panel seemed to laugh quite a bit.

Haha so now we're just waiting for the results. and also for the voice tests for the musicallll. :)
